Of course you get a penguin, and you don't even have to feed it *g*
Still not happy with having to use an email address to log in instead of
a username... just seems a backwards step in security to me - what's
better, a username I've carefully chosen that only my very closest
friends could ever guess, vs an email address I've used all over the
place, on loads of websites etc? Yeah, sure, I've got the authenticator,
but that's not the point, it's still a backwards step.
Yeah, so suppose the defense is, you can't change your account name, but
you can change email address - infact you could just use a gmail one for
the battlenet account.
Still all eggs in the same basket.
That's true, I checked the FAQ and saw that login just changes when you
change email address, which is a good thing (was wondering what happened
if you have to change address for any reason!), so that has a plus side.
And yep I could use a gmail address or something, just not wildly keen
on having to set up a special address just for playing WoW with (and
having to remember to use it enough that it doesn't get shut down, as
tends to happen to all my alternative addresses)
Yeah, of course you don't have to use it until and if you need to change
it on battlenet.
I don't think gmail has this timeout feature does it?
I'll do it anyway, just not convinced it's a brilliant idea. On the plus
side, if they can make use of this to eventually let BoA items be bound
across the merged accounts, instead of to the individual accounts only,
that's a good change.
Of course they don't do that yet - but you'd hope they would work on
that aspect.
Not sure how mailing to the other faction would work though.
I think they could roleplay it, you went down and talked to one of the
steamwheedle dudes, and ask him to hand some stuff over to your
"friend" on the horde side *g*
That'd be a great solution to that problem indeed! Can understand if
they never allow that, but at least mailing between linked accounts
would be good, got a 76 shaman that can't fly at the moment, since my 2
lvl 80s are on the other account, sigh. Feel a bit dumb still being on
the ground when lvl 70s are flying everywhere :-/
Yeah, know how to mean.
And I do like the sound of the crossgame
communication etc also, so it's not all bad.
You have someone to talk to, eh? :)
Not so much in other games but should work across factions from what I
read, which is great - hardly ever get to talk to my old Alliance
friends now unless they log on their Horde alts.
Yes, now cross faction whispers should be possible to people on your
friend list (ie no harassing in BG's ;)
