Zil, I'm going to tell you straight up, I looked up your armory, and
you should be gemming more for spell power. Either sp, sp/int, or sp/
spirit gems. I bet you won't even notice the slight regen loss.
Perhaps you are right. I do seem to have a surfeit of regen in some
fights, although I've aimed for a mix in gems - some sp, some int, and
some spi.
In addition, for most boss fights, you should be matching your Spark
of Hope (which is worth 150mp5) with a spell power trinket, preferably
something like Solace of the Defeated or Sif's Rememberance
If those ever dropped I'd certainly try to get them. I've not seen
either of them at all so far though.
but Je'Tze's Bell and Darkmoon Card Illusion are good ones that are easy
to get. Those are all spell power trinkets with mana regen procs.
Yes, you will end up using your shadow fiend slightly more often, but
the trinket and gem changes would increase your spell power by nearly
200, and that will make a noticeable difference.
You really only need to go with your full regen gear during long
fights, like yogg or northrend beasts.
I've always liked extra mana regen - I'm usually on raid healing duty
and find it allows me to get away with more Pray Of Healings which are
a bit of a mana drain, and I can just spam heals on current aggro
holders without worrying about wasting man on overhealing.
But I agree that I should really swap gear depending on encounter,
and use more spellpower or haste on the less mana intensive fights.
All I need is the gear!
