I'm not sure what the hell it is here but sometimes the battles with
the Black Knight go perfect and sometimes they are hell. This has been
the way it has been over the last few weeks.
So then I start making more use of Guardian Spirit and Divine Hymn and
find that they helped.
But then yesterday all hell broke loose. Sometimes that happens,
amidst the good days there is a bad day.
As a holy priest when those adds start banging on me and Fade is on CD
I am now faced with the problem of having to
(1) use Binding Heal on the tank and myself thus ignoring two other
things those being healing others and being able to move around. I can
cast a few things whilst running but I need some practice hitting all
those key stroke sequences. Perhaps I can creat a macro that I can hit
while running and that would take care of that
(2) using an undo amount of mana by doing #1 above. Even wIth 321 Mp5
which I could even get higher with some food and maybe a Big Mojo the
toll is taken on the mana before I know it. Well maybe not before I
know it but by trying like hell to make sure the tank and I stay alive
I lsoe track of a good time to pop the Shadow Fiend. Perhaps another
macro could take care of that. Somewhere in there I also have to pop a
Desperate Heal on myself.
(3) Because I am standing still and getting gangpiled it tends to make
me a target for from crazy CE here and there.
Well for sure this fight is exciting.
One more thing.
Perhaps it has to do with where I am standing. Yesterday I tried to
stay in fairly close to the tank and boss in the first phase to keep
the adds close by and I got Knocked Back so far out of range that by
the time I got back into range to heal - forget about it! I moved a
litte further away after grisly wipes but then I became easy targets
for the adds.
I noticed that phase 3 requires some heavy Prayer of Healing spammage
and use of Guardian Spirit and Divine Hymn helps alot along with a
Runic Mana pot.
Did I mention that this fight is exciting.
I'm just not sure why sometimes it is easy as cake and sometimes it is
a wipefest.
Oh and one more thing. Twice we used two healers and took him down
with just two DPS. Unbelievable. Now that is bad. 90% of the time I
can heal the battle like it was riding a bike and 10% of the time I
need help. Go figure.
Sometimes I walk away from that fight feeling like a big stud and
other times despite victories I still walk away with the most utter
feeling of inadequacy.
There msut be some finer nuances I still need to know about that
fight.
Three cheers for Heroic ToC!
OH! OH! OH!
Orion
Having healed this a number of times on my priest, I'll share my tactics.
Phase one, of course is pretty straight forward ... just avoid being
next to the ghoul if dps doesn't take him down before he explodes.
Phase two, I try to be near the tank initially so that he can grab any
adds that may happen to aggro on me, and then withing a few seconds, get
the heck away. Lots of meelee on this fight can make phase two difficult
to heal due to the corpse explosions.
For Phase 3, it is helpful to have everyone move close to the boss so
that your circle of healing can catch the whole party. Also, make sure
PoM is recast as soon as it runs out. If CoH is on cooldown, I'll cast
Flash Heal on the three lowest health members to get my PoH cast time
shortened and then use that (this is assuming you have points in
Serendipity).
Hopefully there is something in there that you can use :-)- Hide quoted text -

Hmm...

Sounds like one the things I need to do is to tell eceryone to get in
close for phase 3
I have Serendipity so I shall try to make good use of that on phase 3.
Thanks.
In phase 2 I have had 4 ghouls on me at once. By the time I have
healed myself along with the tank I can't picture anyone anyhow
aggroing 4 ghouls off of me.
Thanks again
Orion
