I remember, or the first raids on UBRS
when it was HARD for 15 people, or reminiscing about the first times

When I got to lvl 60 all lvl 60 5 man instances were done in 10 man as raid
and it was just a stupid zergfest with no tactic at all. After they put 5
man limit then you had difficulty to find a group decent enough to finish...

Yeah I really hated the zergfest 10-mans, after it got lowered to 5 was
much better, in that it was actually less chaotic and I began to
understand wtf was even going on in the groups... I only really learned
how to play in groups when that happened. Didn't have much trouble
finishing the runs but then was usually in guild runs with people in
epics.

Killing the postmaster in strat to get pants to drop is 1 of thie thing that
was most annoying (I played a mage only at the time). Getting a pug to clear
enough to kill it was almost impossible, if you even got the people to do it
then it would be a wipefest as the guy was insanely hard..
And there were very little ways to getting gear if you were unlucky with
some drop.

Yep, as a mainly solo player I couldn't do much to get decent gear, at
least as a rogue I could get ok stuff but weapons was a nightmare...
thankfully I got lucky eventually on Strat and had 2x Skullforge Reaver
for a long time (yes I know it's far too slow for offhand but hey, it
beat anything else I could get), eventually got the Zulian Slicer also.

Melee classes (non raiders) were overpowered to non rading casters as a
rogue you could get +agility items everywhere (non raid) as mage you couldnt
get any +SP etc.
Raid instances were 40 man only in the beginning so you had to be in very
big guilds to do anything, half of the time in raids was buffing with single
buffs and let's not look at the first pally buffs (5 min?).

Oh gosh yeah I feel so sorry for pallys before the longer buffs got
introduced, must've been horrible. Remember any 5-mans with a pally was
a case of pause between fights every 5 mins for rebuff. And the only
40-man instances really sucked for folk like me who get overwhelmed in
large groups - I went along to Ony several times but really did not
enjoy it. ZG was less bad but still too many really; I find 10-man is
the max I can be even closeto comfortable in. Different things suit
different people, I appreciate some love the large raids and epic scale,
but I'm so glad they added choice for us.

And I could go on :p
You probably remember only the good times and fogot all the things that were
improved since.

Some things were ok in wow classic but I wouldnt want to return to those
times at all...

Think I agree. I loved classic wow, but nostalgia makes it seem better
than it really was, when you think back there was a lot of things that
have dramatically improved since those days. I remember completely
wrecking my fingers trying to farm Timbermaw rep on a rogue (sinister
strike spam argh), had really bad aches for a couple of months there...
and never even got to exalted. You could argue it's gone a bit far the
other way now, but then there's so many more factions nowadays that it
kinda needs to be a bit easier.
