That doesn't work when WoW is so frozen that you can't kill it off to
see anything on your desktop though - mine is what to do when you know
there's life behind the frozen game but can't see any of it ;-)

The OP didnt write the most important thing... which operating system...
In windows XP it could happen that wow freezes in a way that I couldnt
access the taskbar, the only way was to reboot the PC. In Windows 7 I never
had that problem for wow or any other application and I hear in vista is the
same, you never have to crash the whole system because of 1 frozen
application.

That's good to hear, I'm switching to Win7 when it's properly released,
looking forward to less crash hassle! On XP atm, it's mostly great but
when an app crashes in such a way that you can't access Windows it's
seriously annoying.
