I've seen this too, with certain guilds I've run in as a guest. You
defeat a boss, and *immediately* the players run towards the next one
and start dealing with trash mobs, while the lootmaster is
simultaneously organizing rolls and distributing loot. Not only does
this make it hard on the lootmaster, its also tough on players who
want to compare items with what they already have.

It makes for a fast run, but I find it frustrating; "Is that an
upgrade? Or just a sidegrade? I need a few seconds to consider!"

It's awfully easy to mis-distribute loot under these circumstances,
and I'm very happy with the new tradeability of looted items.

Yep, I understand it in Spider wing where there's an acheivement for
doing it fast - our GM used to tell whoever was offtank to go and pull
some trash while he sorted loot out after the bosses, but the rest of
the time it's really annoying. Much easier on everybody involved in the
lott process to have the time to do it properly but seem patience isn't
something people are good at :-/
