I'm wondering how the new "mp5" thing will affect currently geared up
hunters and the other mana burners. I'm not too happy... Yet.
Won't do a thing for hunters since they won't use mana :-P I'm assuming
hunter-specific gear will get re-itemised, not sure what they'll do
about hunters and enhancement shamans sharing gear though, interesting
one!
But I have intelect & mana regen items on my hunter now.
I hope Blizzard translates my +mana/mp5 enchants and such with
something useful. Or will they still be there and totally useless,
making my gear even worse than it already is. Do I keep working on my
gear (doing WG & other BGs now), or do I play another character until
the patch comes out?
Actually, I may concentrate on my rogue anyway.
When the patch comes out there'll be 5 new levels and new instances and
zones so really, does it matter if you have to replace some gear at a
time when everyone else is getting new gear anyway?
If it makes you impotent before you start the slog, yeah sure it does.
It's a bit like introducing AP for BC. Before then hunters got 2 AP from 1
AGI, with patch 2.0 they cut that down to 1 AP for 1 AGI but added AP as a
seperate stat. On hunter T0, T0.5, T1, T2 and T3 items they adjusted the
stats to make up for the lost AP, on all other items that had AGI, we just
took a dip in AP.
I was worried this would make levelling in BC hard. It wasn't a problem at
all, most gear was replaced within a few levels anyway.
So I'm sure these stat changes will either be compensated by raising other
stats where possible or there will be early replacements made available
while levelling.
It's all a long long way away anyway so why even worry about it right
now?
Except they start the patch download next week (the patch is 8 giga byte
;-)
They announced this expansion yesterday... no chance at all of it
being out for 6 months, probably a year is more likely.
I hope you are right, lich king is essentially over (except he hasn't
shown up yet!) but its too much if they string it out that long.
Icecrown out by November, and get the expansion out by Feburary - and
that's still too long.
At Blizzcon somebody mentioned that they want to get the beta for Cataclysm
running by the end of the year. So february is probably a rather positive
estimate, it could well be March or April, though the beta for WotLK was
shorter than for BC if I remember correctly.
In any case, there should be at least half a year left in WotLK what with
the content patch that brings us Icecrown Citadel...
Cheers
