Re: Firefighter (hard mode Mimiron)

Mimiron's 10 man hard mode, Firefighter, just kicked my ass today. If
you have managed to complete this achievement, I'd love to hear about
it, because, holy cow, it was hard - we never made it to phase 3, and
only made it to phase 2 twice with everyone alive, out of like 20
tries.

We've done it few times already, and I do have to say that it is by far
the hardest encounter in Ulduar, at least from a healer's perspective. :)

Basically, if you've done this fight, how did you manage the fire, and
how did you manage to keep everyone close enough together, so that you
could heal through the raid damage?

Basically at the start and between every phase change the whole raid
bunches up in one corner to both get the existing flames packed more
together and to get the new ones to appear to a convenient spot.

At the start it's under the button. After that the whole raid and the
tank start to move counterclockwise through the room to avoid the fires.
With the same core team, people seem to find suitable spots for themselves
and the relative position stays about the same while we're moving away from
the fires, or the tank needs to move.

We healers usually try to position ourselves so that we are all in range
of everyone, and when we move it's mostly the dps' responsibility to stay
in healing range. It took a bit to get it as a group, but when you learn
the routine on how to move together, it's quite an easy phase. At least
compared to the others. ;)

The +25% damage multiplier of hard mode doesn't sound like a lot on
paper, but it made a big difference when we were attempting it,
especially when it came to healing through the raid damage. My raid
was in near full 25 man Ulduar gear, and I have to say, I don't know
how a 10 man only guild could do this fight, at this time.

Yup, we too are at 25-man/10-man hardmode Ulduar gear and that one
kept challenging us for quite some time. Eventually only the nerfs
to the extinguisher bots and to the moving flames made it doable for
us.
