At level 62 you should have all in slot green outland items with the
occasional blue from group quests, all "old world" items must go asap.
A lvl 62 should be doing at least 500 dps (you + pet). Do not buy anything
from the AH untill you get to level 80, it's not worth it at all and
specially not any epic (purple) items. Use the weapon with max dps, I think
you should have gotten a weapon in one of the first quests in outland, dont
even look the color, I'm sure any bow in outland is way better than
hurricane.
I dont know how much gold do you have but you should have around 6500g at
lvl 77 for epic flying skill + cold weather flying (even sooner in next
patch I think).
Once you are 80 and you dont plan on raiding then it's worth to look what
are the boe epics available for lvl 80 toons.
With every quest reward or item drop I get I compare the stats (im
looking for in order Agility, Stamina, Strength, Intelligence with
perhaps X mana per 5 seconds factoring in if it shows up) and DPS. I
will sacrifice a little DPS if it gives me beneficial stats but not
much. Im not sure how dpsmeter calculates (are there other addons i
should be considering that are more standardized ?) but it does spike
well over 280 sometimes but i do think that dps is a relative term
considering what you are doing. If i am part of a group of people
taking out a boss and just standing there safely going through
rotations then I should expect to see a uniform result. However, if
have my pet taking on one mob while i dash to the side to tag another
mob and meleeing a third mob (i also mine during fights if a node is
next to me)...or using my AoE shots in conjunction with exploding trap
or feigning death to get 5 mobs aggroed onto my pet......I can see my
DPS going way down considering the multiple things I gotta do to both
maintain max crowd control and avoiding a corpse run.
Are there good items I can get via battleground reputation? I havent
taken a peek at my old toons from 3 years ago (other than to make sure
they are there) but i do remember getting some sort of rep which
enabled me to buy good stuff just from a lot of BG pvp
.
