Hit is of no use at all to a healer, since all your heals will hit
anyway. You should avoid items with +hit on, unless they are a clear
upgrade in all other areas and nobody else wants the item.

If you are dual-specced as shadow, though, then you might be wise to
save up gear with +hit for when you're in shadow spec.

For healing, I proritize my stat preference in roughly this order:
Spirit, Spellpower, Intellect / Crit, mp5, haste

I particularly like Spirit because (with the right talents) it adds to
spellpower as well as providing mana regen.

My rotation is like this..

"Rotation" isn't usually a word associated with healing. It implies a
set order of spells, but healing is generally a reactive process,
where the spell you need to cast is determined by the current
situation.

On Trash mobs I usually give the tank renew
to start off the fight.. When it doesn't seem to keep up with damage
or it expires I start using flash heals or if mobs use some sort of
AOE I though Prayer of Mending..

It's usually a good idea to keep Renew up on the tank (I set Grid up
to show the Renew buff on my targets as a coloured square that goes
from greed to yellow to red as time runs out - when it gets to red I
refresh it).

If more than one person is taking damage, Prayer Of Mending is a great
spell to throw in. It's particularly efficient if you have 2 tanks
stood withing PoM range of each other so that the PoM bounces back and
forth between them.

Shield isn't particularly mana efficient unless you're Disc specced,
so I don't tend to use it.

Get in the habit of using Binding Heal wheneever you need healing
yourself - that way you can heal 2 people at the same time.

Circle Of Healing is still a great spell (despite the nerfs a few
months back). I find that it usually procs Surge Of Light, giving me
a free Flash Heal (as a tip, I suggest getting an addon that makes a
sound whenever Surge Of Light procs so that you know how best to
manage your heals - I find it helps a lot knowing that I have a free
instant heal ready to be used in the next 10 seconds. Without the
audio alert I'd miss most of the SoL procs).

You didn't provide a link to your spec, so I can't see what talents
you have but I hope it includes Serendipity & Guardian Spirit.

Serendipity is a great talent for speeding up some spells - after
3 Flash/Binding heals your next Greater Heal is as quick as a Flash
heal. Alternatively it allows you get get off a quick Prayer Of
Mending, which can be particularly useful in fights where a whole
party is taking damage.

Guaridan Spirit has to be my current favourite spell - it took me a
while to realise it's power, but now I can't live without it. I'd also
highly recommend getting the Glyph Of Guardian Spirit to go with it,
which allows you to cast GS much more often (on the whole).

Glyph of Flash Heal is also a must-have. My third major glyph is
Glyph of Holy Nova, but I rarely use HN.

I use healbot so i won't have to
select each group member when healing them (although I need more skill
with that).

I've not tried healbot for a long, long time, but I'd highly recommend
trying Grid & Clique, which together do a very similar thing to
healbot, except Grid is way more customizable. It takes a little
getting used to but, as other Grid users will tell you, it's well
worth it. You can display a lot of handy information in a small
area, and (my favourite) you can set it up to display (de)buffs of
your choice. e.g. come across a new boss that does a nasty debuff
that you need to dispel or heal through and you can just configure
Grid to show an icon on all people with that debuff allowing you
to react quicker.

Talking of addons I also love MikScrollingBattleText which, although
it's primarily a scrolling combat text addon, allows me to configure
audio / visual alarms when certain things occur, e.g. a boss starts
casting a particular spell, or I get a certain (de)buff. A life-saver!

Also, I like DWMend for tracking my Prayer Of Mending, and of course
SmartBuff for keeping buffs active with minimal effort.

I don't get alot of problems with mana running out... Only once I ran
out of mana and I used some pots which were amplified by my Alchemy
trinket.. But this might be due to the good dps we have.

Any thoughts.. please advise me about gear and rotation
