I have a level 58 Paladin that I created less than a month ago. I
don't play that many hours a week, as I work 40+ hours a week and have
a 6+ hour daily commute and she had 2056 gold on her last night when I
logged out.
Granted I have been playing the game for awhile now and know how the
AH works but I see lots of beggars on my server who are higher
levels. A check to the Armory reveals that they either have no
profession or are still at the Apprentice level. They also seem to
spend all their time begging. If they wanted to level up fast and
not think about earning gold, fine. I see too many of them who seem
to spend all their time in a major city begging. They could be out in
the world earning that gold instead of whispering me for it.
Well on the server I'm on. Azjol-Nerub EU it seems that Alliance side has
it far worse than the Horde side. Goldshire is like spam heaven for beggers
and I ain't even going to mention the peaks that Stormwind gets on the
matter. I just haven't personally seen the same amount of begging being
done in Org whatsoever. Even the starter areas aren't even got much of a
problem.
However I came to the conclusion it's because horde are so outnumbered and
that's what you get if you have way more on one side than the other. The
spammers, gold beggers will choose the side that has the larger playerbase
as there's more gold floating about. :)
I have no doubt that Azjol-Nerub US server would have the problem reversed
as that has more horde than alliance players.
