I fail to see the point in buyin gold when a couple hours a week on the
AH will rake in the gold, not to mention doing dailies and the like.
Some people seem use AH only to spend money to buy stuff and can't
imagine someone would earn from it. Some time ago some random person
in Dalaran saw me riding on the vendor mammoth and immediately accused
me of buying gold. He said that the mammoth was Blizzard's "gold buyer
detector" as it's impossible to get that amount of money by normal
means ;)

Lol, by that logic I must've bought loads of gold since I've got both
the mammoth with vendors and the 10k gold one from Sons of Hodir :-P

That looked like a confession to me! I'm reporting you! :P

:-P

Seems some people could use learning a bout about how to make money,
it's really not hard :-)

I make enough money for me. Not anywhere near enough to consider
blowing 10k on a mount though. I tend not to get multiple mounts. The
only characters that have more than one of a mount type have the AV Wolf
because they had more AV marks than they knew what to do with.

My main has every mount I can get my hands on, currently got 74 I
believe, not too sure how I'll ever get the 100 mounts acheivements but
then I still miss most the pvp and argent tournament ones, plus all rare
drop ones. None of my alts do that though, they usually get one
racial/class mount and that's it :-P
