yup, I already have a 60 priest on a PVP server and just returned to
the game last week after a 3 year absence.
After leveling a hunter to 30 and making newbie shaman, druid,
warrior, mage, warlock and rogue I couldnt decide whether to make a
paladin or do priest again. I guess pallies are ok but I remember
having a blast with my other priest so I figured it works so I made a
blood elf priest. My other priest was shadow spec most of its career
and respeced right before I quit the game so I didnt have much
experience with it.
What is needed these days? Are shadow priests needed on raids or are
they seen as being gimped when it comes to healing?
Im on shandris and so far I havent grouped much at all....only with
one friend.
Shadow Priests are welcome in raids for dps and mana regen for healers.
They have low single target dps, but they have the highest aoe damage,
and mana is never a problem, unless they need to help with the healing
too.

Really? I cannot think of AoE spells for priests that are better than Mages AoE.
But I am drunk.............
