If I were writing a robot to rip addresses for a spam bank, it would be
pretty obvious to put each address through a filter to strip such
strings as 'removethis' and other variants.

I'd just create a stringlist of phrases to strip, and would expand on
that list as I came across others that I saw used, based on occasional
visual screening of the names that were retrieved.

And since the cost of sending spam is so small, I would then send out my
spam to both the original email as collected, and any variants that came
out of my stripping filter.

But you can be sure that 'removethis' would be the first string in that
stripping list...
