Just my take from a holy priest perspective:

First Boss Event in Azul Nerub
Have a DPS class with secondary healing like a shaman or shadow
priest, maybe even a pally to slap heals on the main healer. Was there
twice this weekend. Once with a shadow priest, no problemo, she topped
off my healer as needed. Yesterday solo healing I could not even use
Binding Heal fast enough to keep me and the tank up, the posion spout
knocked me down; another time I think the shackle broke early and I
got laid to waste by the shadow caster. Remind me to slap on at least
a little hit rating gear if I am the only healer going to that
dungeon.

All DPS kill Skirmisher first, paladin tanks have easy time here with
HoJ stun + HW stun, usually they are dead before they have a chance to
threat reset and go after a random member.

Helpful info. Even a warrior can stun once, not sure if CD is up by
the time the next pull charges.

First boss in Old Kingdom
If I am healing then as soon as an add spawns it is pretty much
guaranteed that I am aggroing it. I shalt not cast any Renews there
ever again until it is obvious that there will be no problems such as
on the final phase or near the end of the third assault by adds. Fade
is useless to use right away when the little adds spawn as it seems to
be more important once the big add is engaged and the little adds are
swarming on me, the healer. Secondary healer would be nice here also
but that is not going to happen in every group but it might be
something I shall ask if I am asked to go in LFG.

Alot of fights can be made easy by positioning.  When tanking this
(and most encounters that have adds spawn) I like to be between the
healer and the adds, this gives clear sight to pick up the adds as
they try to run pass me to get to you.

From what I recall the small adds can come from anywhere or at least
that is what I think I saw. If that is the case there is no "one"
place a tank can stand.

Da Snake Boss "Mon" in Gun Drak
Seriously it seems that the best palce to fight this guy is up near
the netrance, a long haul for the tank but that seemed to be the place
that got the job done. The times fighting him down at the water hiding
on the other side of the water made it hard for anyone to pull aggro
back to the main melee once the snakes headed towards the priest. Of
course a well timed Fade could make the snakes spend a lot of time
running back and forth and if I am in a group that insists on fighting
him there "mon", that needs to be kept in mind by me, the healer.

See above, I tank boss where he starts, healer behind me, tank pick up
adds, not sure what causes the wrap or if it can be avoided?

The snakes seem to have to be killed to avoid the wrap. I'm not even
sure where the adds come from. I'm gonna have to go check youtube o
see if anyone left a fight there.

The Whirlywind Boss in Utgard Pinnacle
Unlike running the gauntlet in regular UP I was intrigued by starting
the event in that last area near the locked doorway. That seems to

Dont do that.

work fine as long as all the DPS casters ensure that the tank has
grabbed aggro on any spawns before they start casting. Once they grab
aggro it was da baitch and keeping them up especially if they do it
multiple times and a waste of mana not to say the least that the mana

Also a draw back if DPS are so close to add spwans that they can react
quicker than the tank.  Dont do that.

IIRC there were also adds coming from the entrance as well as from the
two corners. I found the best place to stand was at the locked door.

And I repeat we did not fight the boss in there. Positioning is easy
outside once the boss lands and as long as people stand in the right
spots and run down the aisle things seemed fine. As a healer I just
had to make sure that I was not too far away from the tank on the
reconvening. I guess the tank should keep that in mind at that point
also.

was also wasted having to heal myself until the tank was finally able
to get his AoE and taunt off cooldown and of course by the time the
boss comes down that fight saw little mana left in my pool due to the
wastage. And of course when the casters dont stop casting when he
whirlwinds and they finish their spell and then finally run that is da
baitch also. Run away little girl run away! I think I got that fight
down now from a healers perspective.

1. All ranged (Healers & DPS) should stay "guantlet entrance side" for
the whole encounter.

This gives the tank time to grab adds that spawn in that room and LoS
them out.

When boss joins fight, you dont want to be near him when he starts
Whirly, or even worse get backed into a corner where you cant move out
the way! (follow point 1 above and this wont happen).

The Corehound in Violet Hold
I ahve finally figured out that for a brief period of time onjce he
starts breathing on the tank it appears that for that period of time
he just breathes and breathes and breaths and that is a good time for
spammage healing as well as a use of a trinket.

The tank should not take a huge ammount of damage, unless he is not
watching the floor and is just standing in the debuff that is left
after the flame breath?
Did the tank straff/move back at anypoint?  If not, he was standing in
the flames AFTER the breath, and deserves to die /:p

Debuff? Ahh, so that is what it is, it is not more breathing jsut a
debuff. I see.

The Ethereal in Violet Hold
Remember to get up on the upper platform and lay down some renews as
you are running and Payer of Mending on someone maybe the one with the
lowest hit points (usually me), use Binding Heal if you and the tank
are hit and when the boss is almost dead and everyone takes a blast
hit that circle of healing and a quick Holy Nova to make sure they
have a quick revival in case an arcane sparkler is still up and
running nearbby and hit that Prayer og Healing unless the tank is low
then pop a biggie on him.

All avoid the sphere, heal tank (who should take little damage) on
move, what else is there to it?

Yeah heal the tank but if others are taking damage I have to heal them
as well. In theory it is nice if the tank is the only one that has to
be healed.

Loken
This guy is a schmuck, a 100% schuck. Make that 200%. I have not
defeated him. Since I have an Inscriptionist I think I shall make my
priest a glyph of Holy Nova and install it next time before I go to
heroic Halls of Lightning to see if this idea works. This was
mentionjed as the way to go vs Loken on some website. Makes sense to
give it a try. The Holy Nova can be cast as I am in motion and we move
away from the spot of the AoE cast. Hell with a scriber and a good
herb picker I could easily "respec" my glyphs as needed for specific
dungeons.

All group up and have a plan of where to move during AoE cast1, cast2,
cast3 etc depending on how long the fight takes.

Easy plan ---
Use the line that goes from boss to the round room as a guide of path
to follow.
Use the middle of the 3 different levels as the stop points.
Go down, down, up, up as AoE casting starts, rinse repeat as needed.

Okay I will mention this next time. We were bouncing back and forth
between pillars.

One more note I have been running into here and there on these heroic
runs...

LoS mon! LoS is the bane on stairways and near nooks and crannies.

Da LoS Mon!!

For all of the above:
Use Desperate Prayer when you get desperate. It did help on a few
fights.

Also for the mana intensive fights don't wait till your mana is real
low to cast shadow fiend. the fight might be desperate at that time.
Use it earlier on during a safe moment and when the pool is low/high
enough so that the fiend will get it almost full by the time it
disappears.

Perhaps I will post a few other theories. feel free to comment and
rebuke anything that I failed to properly observe or if my educated
conjecture is not so educated.

Three cheers for the challenging bosses in the heroics

OH! OH! OH!

Most of the Heroics require just higher level of gear and it suddenly
becomes nothing but a walk-through mostly

for Gun'drak

with a geared def rating capped tank (535 atleast) and good DPS
(2000DPS+) with decent heals you can simply heal through and DPS
through the snakes

you don't need to kill them or to even avoid them ... though avoiding
them does help and it's for an achievement .. which kiting them up the
top of the stairs works best

70% of all Heroics are gear checks of the ones that aren't they're
simply positioning based and excution

HoL once again like someone said you simply can stand in there and
heal through if the group is pretty well geared

unless you're running with freshly geared 80s then i'd simply suggest
you find a better group to run with
.
