Dont you miss the increased dmg from blood presence though?

When I try unholy presence I find I have to wait on runes to come off CD a
lot and it's only good when you have to fight single mobs that are a bit
apart so runes come off CD till you pull it, also blood presence heals 4% so
I can so scourge strike instead of blood strike and still be at full HP and
scourge strike crits for 6k.

I think that you get more DPS from Unholy presence provided you don't
run out of runes and runic power. I do PS, IT, HS, HS, Obliterate/
Death Strike or 2 more HS depending upon Death Runes. That's 5
seconds for a complete rune rotation which is only 3 attacks in Blood
Presence. If I have two Death Runes from a previous Obliterate/Death
Strike then that's 6 attacks in 6 seconds where Blood Presence would
only be 4 attacks. Either way, it's an extra two attacks instead of
an extra 15% damage. I usually have enough runic power to finish the
mob off with Death Coil once my runes are on cooldown (and there's a
good chance that I'd have already got one in for free due to my
talents).

In the rare cases that I haven't killed the mob after a few Death
Coils the runes are back off cooldown and I can carry on. This is
where Blood Presence starts to catch up - on a mob that lasts until
the end of the second set of runes (elites or multiple mobs) you can
start to wait for runes / runic power in order to carry on which
lowers your DPS. I tend to only get this situation on multi mob pulls
of 3 or more.

In the normal run of questing I have too much runic power and mobs
usually last long enough for my runes to become available for the next
mob. It might be down to playing style though. I rarely aim to get
multi-mob pulls but I also don't spend any effort to prevent them if
it would slow me down to go around.

I don't often even need the healing from Death Strike. I tend to use
Rune Tap when I have time.
