an update on my account
I spent 1.5 hours waiting for Blizzard on the phone
finally got someone and they restored ownership of my account back
resetting my email and my password to that of my work address
I later on went online last night and checked
yup completely hacked to the bone my 80
took and sold off (atleast I believe they sold it) all my Heroic BoP
and BoE gear
everything stripped bear and only Badge Gear left and Tier 4 pieces
plus some Trinkets I got from say Hallowed Events
all of which was completely broken
took all my Bank bags took all my mats like Frozen Orbs and other
things
stripped all the bags clean took all the gold and left me with 13
copper
then I checked my twink
he was missing his twink sword (probably sold it) also his OH was gone
and his thrown weapon
rest of the gear on him was left alone (surprising too because though
it's not really valuable it's still the best twink gear in the game
and I'd think they'd want to completely destroy my account ... some of
which took me a year to get and others are impossible because they
were only avaliable for one patch and then it was taken out)
he's still missing one complete set of fishing Contest Gear so I'm
going to need Blizzard to give those back because sure as hell I'm not
fishing again
my 46 druid was naked and everything was gone
my level 1 bank alt had pieces missing from her guild bank and all her
bags were taken
my 28 rogue was pretty much left alone
and my 35 priest was still wearing what seemed to be her gear (these
characters I didn't bother to really check they weren't seriously
important)
my 19 twink Paladin was almost completely wrecked lost her Quest
Shield and rare items
and to my surprise they left me with an almost completely untouched 60
Death Knight
my only guess is because it was Death Knight Gear given from the
beginning you can't sell it
he did sell all the bandages and the potions I got off him and took
all my gold and silver
managed a fun night playing my DK for a bit .. cleared ramparts with a
group and made around 30-40 gold for my troubles
so I petitioned a GM last night and they got to me in around 2 hours
said the restoration process was underway and I'd hear from them via
email when it was complete at which point I can simply email them back
if I'm missing anything and have them restore it
told me to wait a few days and that I couldn't ask them to restore one
character before the other as it was part of their investigation
process to track down the hacker
Here's only hoping I get my stuff back by hmm this weekend
and for me to be less stupid and get hacked like this again in the
future
and yes I plan to invest in a Blizzard Authenticator
so even if they get my account back they can't do anything to it
because they wouldn't have the keychain
here's hoping they get the guy that took my stuff and he gets a nice
lump of coal in his stocking this year for being a jerk ...
