Has anyone taken a newly dinged 70 (or 68-69 for that matter) to
Northrend? I am curious as to the difficulty of the zones with a
toon that has basically gone straight in wearing leveling greens
and blues as opposed to a fully epicced/enchanted/gemmed toon.
I have a shadow priest that I am going to bring there as soon as
I get her from 63 to a viable level (68?) How are the gear upgrades
as a continuation straight out of Outland?
Although I could kill the yard mobs outside Valiance Keep at lvl
61/62, I raced through Outland quests and hit lvl 68. At this level I
could start doing the quests at Valiance Keep and the environs, and
sailed through those until I am at the stage of having done most of
the Airfield quests (with plenty to go). That took me about 1 evening
and got me to 69.
The gear is a huge improvement on the quest rewards in the Outlands,
with most plate items giving me 200 or 300 more armour per slot and
better stats. I'm also getting 1,000+xp per kill even without rested
xp, and I also tend to take on about 2 or 3 mobs at a time, plus the
quests routinely give 20k to 25k xp as well.
So far I haven't even had to sit and eat or drink a healing potion!
I'm having a real blast :)
