I think it was Alphawolf <gnuthulhu@xxxxxxxxx> that wrote something
In the greater scheme of things I don't see where Blizzard can do
another expansion's worth of additions for WoW. There will be new
content releases I'm sure - Grim Batol is crying out for some sort of
raid instance - but if they were going to add another "continent" what
would it be? The Maelstrom? Undermines? Those two together might be
enough material to fuel a 3rd expansion for WoW, maybe. Now that the
acknowledged supreme bad guy in the WoW universe is on the menu (well
aside from Sargeras himself), that seems like a bit of a step down.
All the storylines started in the RTS games are being tied up now in
WotLK. I really think Blizzard may have to move on to WoW2, setting
the entire world a few years/decades forward in time to build upon.
Whatever's coming I'm sure it will be fun.
With the whole phasing thing it sounds like they've got going,
Blizzard could in theory make an expansion that involved an invasion
of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Level 80's could get quests
from npc's in the major cities that send them to someone somewhere,
that then gives them a quest and lets them into the phased Azeroth
where Stormwind is under siege, all the small towns like goldshire and
such have been razed to the ground and taken over by whoever, or
whatever story line they feel like coming up with.
Maybe something could have happened on a similar scale as to what
happened to Draenor and Azeroth could look completely different.
The lions sing and the hills take flight.
The moon by day, and the sun by night.
Blind woman, deaf man, jackdaw fool.
Let the Lord of Chaos rule!
