Only thing to be aware of there is that his processor is listed as a
P4. Some P4's supported x64 extensions and some didn't, but you'll
need one that did + a 64-bit operating system in order to recognize/
use more than 3GB of RAM. You can still plug in 4GB though you just
won't make use of any above 3GB.
Besides that, the processor is likely fine for WoW (though a little
dated by today's standards - dual core processors are under $50 now).
Hard drive space on both systems - again, fine for WoW, but very
limited for other uses. Just don't expect to buy any videos of iTunes
or anything with space like that.
The main problem I see though, is the video card. A Geforce 4 Ti4200
is just barely going to limp along at low resolution and min details.
One of my older systems is running a Geforce 6600GT (a lot faster) and
it's painful playing on that.
Just out of curiousity, from the sounds of the specs it sounds like
your friend is looking at a used system. If so, what are the prices
that he's getting quoted for those two?
Also, does he have a tower computer of any sort ATM (preferably a
"generic box" rather than a name brand computer)? If he has a
recyclable case/hard drive/dvd drive he might be able to come out
ahead with an upgrade instead of a complete replacement.
