Re: Paladin Tank questions for heroics

CC is essential in heroics. There are many, many mobs that simply hit way
too hard for you to tank more than one at a time.
I regularly tank heroics with no or minimal CC on my pally. I generally tank
an entire heroic ramps not using CC once. One time I even accidentally pulled
4 trash mobs and the first boss, and we burned them down without incident.
Shat halls is another perfect example of a made-for-paladins heroic where
little or no CC is required. Underbog and bot are some of my other favorites.
For a geared pally tank the only real reason to CC mobs is ones that have
annoying abilities. An example here is the mage guards that we usually CC in
heroic magister's (although the glaive toss is gone, that stupid shield is
annoying), the prophets in heroic Seth that fear, etc. If a tremor totem is
available, then I usually don't even CC those fear guys.
Spellcasters are always a problem for a pally and have to be LOS'd (or
counterspelled) to an appopriate location, otherwise the pally will take a
beating from the ranged spell damage.
It also comes down to not just being a well-geared tank, but having a well-
geared healer working with you. Most of the healers I run with are raid
healers wearing T5/badge gear.
