It means you make up a backstory for your character - usually, I find,
involving parents being slain by X and leaving you as an orphan - and
waffling on about irrelevant things like "Do gnomes have souls" in
General Chat. Actual role-playing is flimsy, overly contrived and
very unsatisfying.

It's nothing like 'pencil and paper' roleplaying, which is far more
interesting.

of utilizing RP options on a non-RP server.

Define "utilizing RP options"

My guess is that their
toons are all of the following - 3rd grade dropouts, sexually
dysfunctional, attention seekers, apathetic about hard work, suffering
from Tourette's Syndrome, mean-spirited, cantankorous fools.


Those people sound less likely to be into role playing and I find
types, or people like them, on all servers, I rarely find any actual
role players even on RP servers.
