Is that the exact sequence how you did it? I just reinstalled and had
problems but I did it in this sequence:

1. Install WoW (from download as my disk was not working)
2. Patch to 2.4
3. Run WoW - it tells me to install TBC (I'd assumed that the
download had TBC in it)
4. Install TBC
5. Run WoW - it starts to download patches its already got

I fixed this by manually running all the patches since 2.0 that were
already in the WoW folder.

Yup.

1. Installed WoW
2. Installed TBC
3. Ran patcher, 935 MB 2.4 patch downloaded.
4. Ran patcher, downloaded 2.4 patch
5. Ran patcher, downloaded 2.4 patch
6. ad nauseum.

This same thing happened when I installed WoW for the first time about 6 months ago. Somebody, somewhere suggested something and it worked. I can't remember what, though. Didn't write it down, whatever it was.
