Tuesday:
My friend whispers me asking if I'd like to join his arena team for some 2vs2 matches. Knowing that I suck at pvp I'm hesitant to accept, and tell him this, I don't want him embarass him, he replies that it doesn't really matter to him whether we win / lose, so I accept the invitation to his team.

Wednesday:
While I'm doing a heroic he whispers to tell me we're doing 5 arenas tonight. I'm such a coward, I log out for 30min after the heroic hoping that he'll forget / ask someone else.
I log back in, get invited for arena. I'm a complete noob and am expecting 5 humiliating defeats, nervousness sets in, I'm more nervous than I was before the first BG I ever did.

So now we have a 2vs2 arena team:
me - combat rogue
my buddy - ret. pally

Battle1: Hunter & Pally - pally almost kills me before we can nuke the hunter, but i vanish and help my buddy finish him off

Battle2: Druid & Pally - Kitty and Healadin, the kitty starts attacking our pally, and me and him start hitting the kitty, our combined dps is more than the healadin can handle, kitty dies, healadin next.

Battle3: Druid & Pally, same team as before, same result, but my buddy dies right after the kitty does, and I pop a Adrenaline Rush on the pally for some uber dps, improved kick helps a lot too.

Battle4: Shammy x 2, Resto & Enhancement, I think we're in trouble here, but they both run right at us, they didn't use their totems right either, and they stay close together, enabling me to use blade flurry, both go down quick.

Battle5: Hunter & Ice Mage, We tried to kill the ice mage 1st, which might have been our mistake, in the end they easily kite & kill us.

Wasn't so bad after all! I realise we battled against some of the poorer teams out there, but I always thought most people doing arenas have loads of PVP experience + uber gear .... guess i was wrong.


yeah a friend of mine and I started a 2v2 arena team expecting to lose, but just wanted points. We stripped naked and didn't really try. We got put up against a lock/feral druid combo, my friend rooted the druid, and we burned the 12k hp lock down with him spamming moonfire and me just unloading on him... all while naked. the druid got my friend first, then I killed the lock with the last shot I got off before he killed me too. After we left I asked "did we just kill that lock??" The next couple of games we actually put our gear on, but he was a brand new 70 and was in mostly greens, and I didn't really have any PVP gear so we lost all but 1... 9 losses, 1 win, and 200-something points. And a really good laugh! If nothing else it was fun :)
