you repair before a raid, I don't know how others look at this but I wouldnt
dream to go into an instance under 90% durability.
Ok so people told the mage to go repair and he said I'm almost out of
money.... I thought as the others did he dont have much money but he has
some... we prepare to continue and our top dps warrior that always run
dmgmeters asked: "can I say something wihout hard feelings? why does the new
mage struggle to keep up with the bear tank in dps (me)" and on a place
where aoe was needed so he had to be top dmg. And the mage replies: "Because
I have only 339 spell dmg cause my gear is red, I told you I dont have money
for repair" and he finished the sentence with a smiley even and he didn't
even think it's a big deal and he was there pretending to go on. I just
couldnt believe some people specially in an instance that is hard at least
as much as SSC/TK. I refused to go on and I said he should be kicked from
raid after something like this, he didnt even say I will go grind the money
or why was he out of money and I saw him online a lot... so after I
mentioned in /ra he should be kicked je immediatly left group and Hearthed
out.
After that I was kinda shocked what kind of people actually joins a endgame
guild... what would you do with a mage like this? Go on and on next wipe he
would have 0 spell dmg and like 4k hp in a really hard instance making other
9 wipe, what was the raid supposed to do other than disband (we didnt have a
reserve)?

Ouch, that has to hurt.

This is unfortunately very common in PUGs. But this was obviously not
a PUG.

How long has he been 70? Does he have any other 70's? Maybe he
really just needed someone to point him in the right direction.

You said he was online a lot previously to the raid. But you didn't
mention where he was or what he was doing. My bet, he was PvPing
instead of doing daily quests for gold.

I can't imagine not repairing my gear though. Thats just crazy. Just
doing 1 or 2 daily quests would be more than enough to repair his
cloth gear, there is really no reason for him not to have the gold to
repair other than he may have just not known.
