In fact, most of my characters aren't past 30.

The reason? Levelling is so frickin' TEDIOUS. You get a quest, it has you
going to the far end of a zone to fight 3000 mobs because -one- of them
should eventually drop the foozle you're looking for. You have to trudge
alllll the way there on foot, fight a few mobs at a time, die a few times
and do some more tedious corpse runs...

What am I doing wrong?

I've played the game for 2 frickin' YEARS, I should have at least one
character to level 70.

There's plenty of guides out there to tell me what quests to take and when.
I have most WoW resource pages either bookmarked or memorized. Hell, I
printed Jame's Guides out, have them as hardcopy.

It's just so... damned... tedious, running from place to place. You ask me,
Blizzard shouldn't have decreased the amount of XP we need for levels or
increased quest rewards, they should have doubled base land speeds. I
estimate a good 75% of the time I spend trying to gain XP is spent running
my character's feet off while I go from one end of a zone to the other.

And when you hit 40 and get your first mount, it doesn't help, because now
all the quests are 'go from this place on one continent to this place all
the frickin' way on the other continent!'. So now that 60% land speed
increase is negated by the fact that you now have five times the distance to
cover. And of COURSE the places you have to go are seemingly MILES from the
flight paths.

Instances: While an interesting possibility, instances are never a practical
solution to this problem, at least for me. I ask for people to group with
me, and I can never find enough people to go on any. Never enough players
at my level. Everyone's playing their level 70's and doing endgame
bull***, and I'm stuck having to solo my way there. And even if I do find
a group, odds are that they're a bunch of morons who don't know how to play
the game in the first place, or loot ninjas just waiting for the right
moment to Need on some blue that dropped and then vanish. I know I should
find a guild, but 99.99% of guilds only want level 70's, and the other .01%
are morons.

I swear, Blizzard should separate this game into two games: One for the
level 70's, and one for everyone else.

As for me, all I can do is start the program, play for a couple of hours
until I'm literally so bored I'm falling asleep at the keyboard, then sigh
as I note I'm only 4% closer to the next level.

Stick with the easiest char to level, and keep working at it, you can
get to lvl 70 in a few weeks of play. They have made it incredibly
easy with this last patch to level from 20-60, the levels literally
fly past now. But if it's still all just too boring for you, then WoW
probably isn't the game for you, and you'd be better off looking for
the instant-gratification games where you stuff the CD in and start
blowing away aliens with a shotgun in 30 seconds. WoW forces you to
play at it's own pace, and that means jogging, riding, flying and
boating all over the world at the speeds the game is set at for those
activities. It's a huge gameworld (thank goodness, one of the greatest
things about WoW is the size of the worlds), with lots to see and
explore. Beautiful things to see and explore- and it takes quite a bit
of time indeed, to see and do it all. That's just the way it is. Get
used to it and deal with it, or shut the *** up and get lost already,
cuz they sure as HELL ain't gonna change it one iota just because of
your stupid whining. Christ on a crutch. HTH.
