I suppose it's a matter of semantics. I consider seduction to be one of her
attacks. My interpretation of the attack button is that the pet should cast
its most powerful/important spell against the mob, and when that spell runs
out, cast it again, and repeat.

For example, for the imp, this means stand back and firebolt. The imp doesn't
instead run up to the mob, attack a couple of times with melee, and then
start firebolting. No, it knows that what it's supposed to do is to spam
firebolt on the mob.

Thats also because the imp lacks a melee attack. The only thing he
can do is cast firebolt. Let him run out of mana while casting
firebolt and he will just stand there until he has enough mana to cast
again.

Instead, what happens when the seduce wears off is that the succubus appears
to go off and do some useless random thing, such as attacking the mob she was
seducing, or seducing some other random mob (usually the one that is being
tanked). Often she just stands there long enough to get whacked by the mob
she was seducing.

I admit, I have never used the succubus in a non-group, non-instance
situation, so I may not be aware of how she is used in solo play. Even in
solo play, my instinct would be to only pull out the succubus when I needed
to CC a mob, and had a specific mob I wanted to CC, rather than to use her as
hybrid CC and DPS. The latter is just too complicated to manage.

Finally, I had no success at using her without a macro. When I first tried to
use her, I would select a target, click her seduce button, and then click my
primary target and cast my first DPS. For whatever reason, I don't think this
worked right, although I can't say why as I picked up one of the seduction
macros and started using it without further investigating what I was having
trouble with.

The AI for the succubus doesn't really work in the capacity a human
player could control her. If you tell her to attack, she will attack
with any spell on auto-cast, as well as her base melee attack. If you
leave seduce on auto-cast and you happen to be fighting a humanoid she
will occasionally stop whipping and try to seduce the target.

I always turn off auto-cast on everything but lash of pain and
soothing kiss. The AI is smart enough to always cast soothing kiss
whenever she is attacked. Invisibility seems useless to me as she can
still be hurt by AoE spells anyway. And seduce is something I want
complete control over.

In instances, she gets put on passive as well so that her ever action
is controlled by me and not by the crappy AI built into her.

It would be nice to tell a succubus to attack a target and just let
her chain-seduce it without input from the player, but I don't think
that will ever happen.
