Wouldn't the group leader realized that he's not getting quest
completion when talking to the blood elf after downing the final boss?
He would see a greyed question mark on top of that blood elf.

Last night I noticed a message in LFG for a tank in Old Hillsbrad. My
warrior has already completed the place but for the sake of getting
him to Revered that much quicker I am glad to go tank there for a
quick 900 rep or so. That head enchant is very desirable from the
quartermaster.

I msg back that I'll do it and turns out the player that is leading
the group is someone I know from another one of his toons.

We proceed to run through the place in the standard record time and
upon finishing the leader wants to do Black Morass. Hey not a bad
idea. My warrior could use that.

We lost some group members and the leader grabs some of his guildees.
We enter the Morass and start clearing. My friend says he can't get in
and that the Thrall quest is still showing. He goes back to Hillsbrad
but can't turn in the quest.

I take a quick BRB and look at WowWiki and see that if a player who
has already rescued Thrall talks to Thrall and starts things rolling,
the players who are on the quest will not get credit.

Now that is an interesting bug. Er, strike that lest someone report me
to Blizz. It is an interesting feature.

I get back into WoW and ask him who started Thrall off and he says
someone else did and I explain the screw job to him.

My poor friend is totally pissed and I mention that if I do Hillsbrad
again I won't be able to stay up and do Morass also. We call it a
night. Hey, I lost out too. I might have been able to get my warrior
Kara attuned - not that I would have been sending him there anytime
soon but it sure would have gotten my warrior a hell of a lot closer
to that nice head inscription that is available from the
Quartermaster.

So keep that in mind folks.

Three chers for the NON-rescue of Thrall!!

OH! OH! OH!

I'm not sure what he saw. When he talked to him the elf said "nice
job" or some such.
