Bags: These are the joy of your life. Running out of space in WoW is a pita, so get bags early. You'll find 6 slot bags on the Auction House

Yes. Usually, at least early on, the play cycle consists of going out to quest, until your bags are full, which is when you return to base to sell your loot. Then you go out to quest some more. Once the quest is completed, you'll usually have another one that you can work on, which you do, until your bags are full and you have to return to base again.

The Hearthstone is very useful, but can only be used once per hour. One should always use it each time one wishes to stop playing, so that the character can wait (rest) in the Inn, and accumulate "rest state". The other situation where one should use the Hearthstone is if one gets lost, which usually means when one accidentally wanters onto a different map (this happened to me the very first time I tried WoW, on a friend's computer. My Troll Priest did some mountaneering in Durotar, and ended up falling into the sea and unable to get back, so he swam to The Barrens where he was overwhelmed by the fauna).

for around 3-5 silver usually. Save up to buy these or bigger if you can

Bags are quite easy to find as loot, at least the smallest kind. But yes, getting good bags is important. Also, old bags should not be thrown away, and should rarely be sold. It is much better to give them to one's younger characters.

My take on bags is to skip ahead in 4-slot increments, meaning that I went from 6-slot bags and directly to 10-slotters, and from 10-slotters to 14 slotters (and still haven't upgraded to 16 slotters). That may be a consequence of (and/or a sound tactic when) playing multiple characters, without having a single "main".

afford it. Start selling your gathered ore/herbs/leather on the auction house, and you'll soon find that what seemed like a lot of money for bags is not really.

Grinding copper is particularly easy in Elwynn Forest. Slightly less so in Durotar. I haven't tried it in the Dwarven starting map (Dun Morogh, IIRC).

Still, I suggest looking into Alchemy crafting right away, since potions makes the game a lot easier.
