There's spam in gen chat on your realm??
I see maybe one sad little character doing /say spamming a week. You can
sometimes see them getting banned while you're standing there. Other
than
this, I NEVER get any form of gold spam anymore. It's almost totally
erased
from the game. *
Well, all I can say to that is wow - I want to be on your server. On
our server we get the /say spammers in old world cities but we also
get spammers in trade. They send a three line message twice and log
off. I don't spend a lot of time in trade and I must report 5 or even
more of them a night. Every single night.
I play on too many different servers (3, actually, but I deleted the
characters on one because they were low-level, still, and I want to start my
Horde alts on a central time zone server. (---Noob moment warning--- It
gets *dark* outside at 10:00 pm!!! I didn't experience that until this
week!) None of the three had any spam in chat. It was group invites and
/say, only.
Same on my server, it's quiet at offpeak hours but standing outside IF
bank
in the evening means 2-3 /say spammers and the odd trade one, one day I
reported 6-7 in 5 minutes. The good thing is that it is only the old world
cities... more and more of my characters are moving to Exodar :-P
It's worse than before the patch that made them need to buy an account
to do it (except for the fact that it is now only in cities whereas
before it was in all zones - they must have fixed the loophole that
meant you could talk to the general channel in another zone)
They also seem unable to use general in cities, or at least choose not
to -
I only ever see them on trade. I'd imagine if they were able to use
general
that they would; they must know half the population has trade turned off
between goldspammers and idiot spammers (so many people like to have
arguments over the trade channel that I end up turning it off even though
I'd like to be able to watch it for, you know, trading... sigh)
The mockery on the trade channel is very tiresome. And ridiculous. :(
