'Nother newbie question, or set of questions, regarding unarmed combat.

Background: I'm playing a Elf Druid (might as well be Taur (who is a
leathercrafter. She wants lots of leather, for medium armor kits, so she
goes to Moonglade, starts massacring rabbits and deer, and harvesting the
hides.

I know, I know, I'm a terrible person. Or rather ~she~ is.

Girls are evil, here's the proof

Girls require time and money:
girls = time + money
"Time is money":
time = money
So girls are money squared:
girls = money^2
"Money is the root of all evil":
money = \sqrt {evil}
So girls are evil:
girls = \left (\sqrt {evil} \right )^2

Girls are evil.

It occurred to me that using my staff was overkill, because those tender
creatures are very frail: they die of fright if you merely give them a
dirty look. So I put my staff away and just started punching them.

My, that is her girlish fists delivered three big points of damage with
that first blow, but it was sufficent.

Suddenly my UNARMED COMBAT rating (which had been zero) began to quickly
rise. One tick with every punch, until level (I think) 40, when it began
to take two punches to gain a level. By the time I had collected enough
skins to make four medium leather armor kits, my unarmed combat skill was
at 67! It took about a half-hour.

It took me til level 14 I think to get that high with my staff skill. I
rarely use my staff, frankly, especially since I got bear form skill.

At lvl 14, your maximum weapon skill level (barring racials) is 70. You see,
you start off with 0 weapon skill and a *maximum* of skill 5 at level one,
as you hit stuff, you level up your weapon skill to that maximum of 5 until
you reach lvl 2, at which point your maximum skill level rises to 10, and so
on.
