Re: frequent disconnects after 10:30 pm EST

Well you present an interesting predicament.

Cable slows down as more clients log on (everyone is in series - vying for the same
router ports downstream there at you cable company provider ISP). You aren't actually
guaranteed the 6-meg bw you pay for. I don't know why - maybe that is just 6mb bw peak for
you with no one else on. Then as folks log in, you see the bw throttling across the ISP
net (ports you are playing WoW on) and you only get a portion related to 6mb, whereas some
else get slowed down even more if they pay for only 3 mb bw. (tier stuff).

Someone or a lot of people on your cable net log on 9-10:30 and do some heavy downloading
or data streaming that is on the same type of IP connection. imho. Maybe it is 'old home
week' in your neighbourhood around 10 pm. This would certainly contribute to bw congestion
across your cable.

The voip chat uses different drivers and streaming format, so that could be unaffected
(different ports through your ISP routers). Most likely open wide along with the media
drivers so "they" can viably get the video streams tiered out debugged and start charging
for fast or slow media streamed down to their new charges tiered clients. know what i
mean. tiered voip - so you can hear a pin drop. How much you pay for these new voip tiered
charges ?

You could have the Bliz 'peer to peer' stuff turned on and this week and last week and
next week your WoW is distributing your client software to other WoW clients in the
background. I shut all this stuff of.
I get my updates from fileplanet. only.

Hope this helps,

: Hello,

: game with little fuss. I know the issue isn't on Blizzards end

: 40 minutes away (he has a different ISP than myself).
:
: Here's the odd part. I host a teamspeak server on another pc in my

: never loose the communication link and we can continue to chat as I re-

: Any ideas on what I can do on my end, if anything, to prevent this?
: Could it be the result of some spike in usage at that the hour causing
: my problem?
:
: Thanks.
