For all you casters out there, check this out: Make a macro with the
following (quick tip: choose the "?" icon for the macro to default to
the spell being cast):
#showtooltip Frostbolt
/stopcasting
/cast Frostbolt
or
#showtooltip Holy Light
/stopcasting
/cast Holy Light
Now go towww.wowace.comand download Quartz (may require the Ace core
addon). To access the Quartz settings in-game, type /quartz. Play
around with it and disable whatever you think you might not need (I
disabled most of it), however make sure to leave Latency and Player
Castbar enabled. Now test out the macro and notice that Quartz's
castbar has a bit of red at the end of it. This is the amount of time
you have to trick the server into releasing the spell after you
interrupt the casting phase. When the bar reaches the red area, hit
the spell macro again. Do this again and again.
You have now lowered the casting time of that particular spell by half
a second. While that may not seem like much, it will raise your DPS or
HPS by 20%. Enjoy!
While I will have to check out the main tip in this post when I get
home, I can honestly say "THANK YOU" for mentioning the thing about
the "?" icon defaulting to the spell being cast. I've setup sooo many
macros with these weird icons that I don't even know what some of the
real icons look like anymore :).
