Re: Things every mage thinks every non-mage should know.

The only thing I have a problem with in regards to this rezzing/corpse

to run". This is a game and it's supposed to be fun.

Right, and doing corpse runs isn't fun. It's dreary, pointless, and
frustrating.

Why all the
attitude?

What about the attitude that if the healer runs, we ALL must run. That's
attitude too.

IMO a group is a single entity with ONE job: Completing the
run. To be honest, I really don't want to group with someone with a
'not my job' mentality. Luckily I haven't run into this particular
problem in any group I've been in (There have, of course, been many
other problems to deal with, including the ninja Pally who kept
needing cloth items and even wands, and then left the group and
immediately attacked Van Cleef so no one would get credit for the
quest, but that's another story).

As for the issue of mages and conjuring food and water, I don't think
it is a mage's job to provide these things for a group. People should
be prepared with all the food and water and ammo and whatever else
they might need before they begin an instance. If, for whatever
reason, someone needs some of these things during a run they should
ask nicely, not just say 'water' or 'food' and expect the mage to jump
up and start making it (I've had hunters do this to me when I play my
hunter and it is really, really annoying).

Not a problem for me, it is something only a mage can, so I have no
objection to doing it. Just like portals after the run. If I don't make
the portal, I'm putting others out. My not doing a corpse run doesn't
put out anyone, except children who think we must all hold each others
hands and skip merrily through the shadows until we find or bodies
again.

Corpse runs stink. Unless there is a practical reason for one, it is
ridiculous to expect it.
