Imp's Fire Shield: Is auto-cast supposed to work?

It seems to me as if auto-cast doesn't work for my Warlock's Imp's Fire Shield spell. I have to manually select my Warlock (F1) and then left-click on the Fire Shield icon (although Ctrl+7 would probably work as well).
