For starters, I'm PvE.I'm certainly no expert, but I can tell you how I'm playing as combat rogue
The Rogue I have now is going down the Subtlety Tree. I enjoy the
daggers, backstabbing and stealth.. stunning 1 mob while going after
another... the whole 9. i wouldn't mind trying something different.
And he's only Level 23ish so still a ways to go and quite a bunch to
learn.
I look down the Assassination tree and I like what I see concerning
bonuses to poisons.
Then I hear about kidney shot... and sword rogues....
So I wonder what the gameplay is like between these different kind of
trees?
Does a combat rogue or assassination rogue mainly face-to-face combat
with swords? While subtlety is all about backstabbing and stealth and
daggers?
I'm just trying to get an idea of the different types of Rogues before
I invest anymore time into the rogue i am playing now.
(almost all points are in combat now) at level 36. I rely heavily on Cheap
Shot, Sinister Strike, with some Gouges. As for finishing moves, it depends
on the situation whether I use Eviscerate (high damage), Expose Armor (use
this early for longer fights), or Kidney Shot (keep mobs from fleeing or to
keep them from doing damage). I think the best part of combat rogue is
Blade Fury (basically allows you to kill 2 mobs at once)...fairly quick
cooldown...2 mins. I get fast kills, but it is pretty much fighting face to
face...I imagine it's a bit more boring than subtlety rogue.
