Since you want to stay daggers, you should really invest in 3/3 imp
backstab
in the assassination tree. 30% more chance to crit with backstab, which
will be your staple attack, is nothing to shake a stick at! There's no
need for Imp Sinister Strike, since you won't be using it.
Yes I agree about the backstab. I'll make sure to get those points. Why
wouldn't I be using Sinister Strike though? I figured since the energy
cost is less with this it would give me a quicker chance to build up combo
points.
they are don't hit too high with sinister strikes. Sure it's a quicker way
to build CP, but a combat daggers build relies on bigger hits via backstab,
even though they are less frequent than you can SS, BS hits much harder.
Okay, so Slice & Dice works by combo points so the more combo points youSlice n Dice lasts longer with the more CPs you put into it, it's the same
hit before it the more powerful it will be. But you're saying...I
think...that I should hit a combo point, then hit slice then hit another
couple of combo points then hit slice, then hit 3 combo points,...etc.. Is
that what you're saying?
speed boost no matter what. So you get one cp, then pop Slice n Dice to
boost your attack speed as soon as possible. With 3/3 Imp SnD, you'll get 12
seconds on one CP. Now you probably have enough time to build to 2cp before
it runs out, maybe more if your Ruthlessness procs and gives you a free CP.
So you build to 2cp, slice n dice again, now it lasts a bit longer, build to
3cp, etc etc and when you pop a 5pt Imp SnD, you get 30s. 30s should be
enough to build back to 5cp and drop in a quick eviscerate, again you likely
get a free cp back from ruthlessness which you can pop a fresh slice n dice
with.
Weapon skill used to reduce your chance to get a glancing blow on a mob.No weapon expertise - since the change to what weapon skill over max does
it's worthless now.
Could you please go further into that explanation for me?
Glancing blows are low dmg, and cut into your DPS. They're common when
fighting higher-level targets, such as *all* raid targets are (typically 2-3
levels above you). Now they've gone and changed it so that instead of
reducing the glancing blow chance, it increases your chance to crit these
mobs by 0.01% per weapon skill point. So with 2/2 weapon expertise @70 you'd
have 360 dagger skill, which means you have 0.10% more crit chance vs them.
That's a tiny amount. Thus, weapon skill beyond your base level of 350 is
largely useless...
Patch 2.1.0 is currently in testing on the PTR. You can read the patch noteseither! I took away imp sap 2/2 - in the next patch all rogues will
automatically stay in stealth when they sap so no need to waste talent
points on it.
from blizzard's website, can't remember the exact section but they published
it there. Also if you dig deeper into the past in this newsgroup, you can
see the patch notes.
Yea I've thought about that but looks like my guild wants combat roguesThe thing about raiding is be prepared to blow alot of gold on respecs
though. Maybe I'll have a chat with the guild leader about what you said
though.
trying to figure out what's just right. I can't count how many times I
respecced my raiding rogue back at 60, really, the number of times I paid
the 50g respec cost was insane.
I mean don't pop it too soon as in let the tank get good aggro on the targetDon't drop adrenaline rush - it's a HUGE dps boost when you pop it! Just
don't pop it too soon and be wary of your aggro when you do. Blade Fury
is another good way to boost your dps. Make sure you're not standing near
a crowd-controlled mob first, but blade fury and slice n dice stack and
your weapon dmg per swing is not affected by the speedup - you simply
swing that much faster now.
Don't pop it too soon. Hmm. Should I save it for bosses only? Or did you
mean to let each fight get going fairly well before popping it. And when
you say "Crowd Controlled Mob" do you mean when there are other mobs close
by fighting someone else in my group? Or do you mean not to use it when
more than me is fighting the mob that I'm taking on?
first. If you popped AR on a mob just seconds after the tank engages it,
you'd better be prepared to tank as your skyrocketing dps will surely draw
aggro! By crowd-controlled mobs I mean any mob that's been temporarily taken
out of the fight, where any dmg on them will bring them back in. This
includes mobs rogues have sapped, shackled undead by priests, sheeped
targets by mages, trapped targets by hunters, etc. You don't want to pop
blade fury when you're near them as blade fury not only increases your
weapon speed, it also makes your attacks hit other random targets in melee
range. You don't wanna break that sheeped target too soon!
