Worth rushing to upgrading? Probably not.

I don't consider it an 'upgrade' if your system runs slower.
Overall, Vista is faster than XP due to vastly improved memory management.
Most of the reports otherwise is FUD from people who haven't actually
tried Vista, or ran into a compatability from a single application and
threw their hands up in the air.
This same paranoia happened when XP came out. All the 98 die-hards
were complaining that it wasn't worth the upgrade. Truth be told, XP
was far better than 98 even in its initial unservice-packed state.
