Quick question to all you hardware gurus out there.
Will WoW run on an IBM R50e?
Specs are:
CPU: Celeron M 1.5
RAM: 256MB Ram (yeah, I know this will need to be upgraded - crucial.com
will get a call).
GFX: 6464MB shared Intel 82855 GME graphicsMB shared Intel 82855 GME.
This is the bit that worries me. I dont know if this is a dx9 solution,
and I doubt very much that it has hardware T&L.
I've been told that adding the -opengl switch will probably alleviate the
T&L issue... What do you think?
Has anyone run WoW on this kind of gfx card (ok, that's maybe too strong a
word for the integrated gfx on the IBM ;o) ).
if so, was it playable?
Cheers
I would say no because:
1. You have a Celeron CPU. That's like a slimmed down regular Pentium.
Plus, it's only 1.5GHz. That's about the bottom end today of what I would
want to play any game, much less one as graphically intensive as WoW.
2. You only have 256MB of RAM. That's barely enough to keep Windows XP
running smoothly.
3. You have an Intel graphics card. They suck for gaming. Plus, it only
has 64MB of RAM and it's *shared* meaning you have even less system RAM
available for WoW.
4. It's a laptop and most laptop's make crappy gaming machines due to the
heat generated.
