According to comments I've seen they've turned into two pairs of fire
elementals on the test server, although I've not seen it for myself.

Good: that section is just way too tough for 5 sub-60 characters.
I'd absolutely hate to see a group of 52-55 characters trying to get
through there, and they're supposed to be the right level group for
the dungeon.

Agreed, I think it'll be a lot better that way.

Erm, how many players at BRD level even *have* FR gear? Most people only
start collecting it when they're looking at doing MC, and they're normally
beyond BRD by that time. I certainly had zero fire res until I was already
60, and I very much doubt I'm alone.

IMO, though, they SHOULD. For every character after my first one,
starting around level 40 or so, I start checking the AH for resistance
rings. You can get a +14 ring for 2-3 gold (even for fire, with
patience, even though its by far the most expensive type.) +14
doesn't sound like a whole lot, but its the difference between
resisting nothing and resisting something, and winds up helping A LOT.

To get a resistance ring of each type relatively early and keep them
with you at all times to swap out depending on circumstances is only
of the biggest bits of advice I'd give to starting players...

Hmm, it's not something I've ever heard anyone else suggest, nor do I find
it really makes any difference - I carry a +17 frost res ring and see very
little difference between when I wear it and when I don't - in fact I'd say
it negatively affects me in that I lose the good stats from the ring I
could have been wearing instead. From all I can see resistances are only
any use when you've got a *lot* and there's just nothing below MC that
makes it worth destroying your stats that badly. maybe it's just me though
and others feel differently.
