As someone who just skilled up alchemy and has the recipe for an
arcanite transmute ... what's the general etiquette for this? I
see people advertise transmutes for generally in the 4-6g range,
I'm presuming that's just a fee and that the customer brings
all mats?
Also, is this something that can be done completely via a trade
window? Or does it involve trust (ie they trade the mats to
me, I do the transmute, and they trade $$ for the bar)?
There is also a "safe from getting ripped off" way - though it does
depend on the alchymist (the guy that could do the rip off :/ ).
Have an Arcanite bar with you - then do the trade as 5g+mats for the
finshed bar. Everything involved goes up in the trade window in one go
and nobody can do any tricks.
The benefit for the alchymist here is that he gets to perform the
transmute when he wants to (right after the cooldown finishes for
example) instead of waiting for a customer to come along.
There is usually a better than 5g profit margin between arcane crystals
and arcanite bars, so why go through that kind of clumsy operation
when you can just sell the finished arcanite bars yourself for a better
profit on the AH?
