Due to a severe money crunch I've been thinking of doing the
"blow up my own training dummies for fused wiring" money
scheme. As much as I hate doing nonsense work like that, it
sounds like it could be useful. Havep eople tried this? is it
worth the effort?

The cost of the materials for the dummies is likely to be the same or more
than the cost of the wiring. The cost of wiring itself also dropped
dramatically since its most wanted use (jumper cables) don't break anymore
and therefore don't need the wiring replaced. As I recall, wiring is quite
cheap now, costing a couple gold on my server. Given the cost of metal and
wool, I think the dummies are a waste of time. Now back in the old days,
when cables used to break and the only place you could get wiring was a rare
drop from Gnomeregan, the wiring was pushing 15g. Nowadays it's nothing of
mention.
