Re: Human Racial...

Technically humans should be able to be any class, as every class in
the game is based on some aspect of human culture. The whole concept
of a hunter or a shaman or a druid comes from roles we've seen
fulfilled in the real world by humans.

Basically, they limited humanity in WoW to a certain subset of it's
real life culture so that we would have less roles, and it would keep
the game balanced.

From a role playing perspective, the vast majority of humanity was
killed off in previous conficlits, and Stormwind is the last bastion of
civilisation for mankind. Givne that stormwind is very
middle-age/renaissance European inspired, it would make sense that
there's no shamen -- typically associated with african, asian, or
native american cultures.

Hunters in WoW tend to lean a bit more towards the mystical too... they
'hunt' with ranged weapons, but they also act more like animal trainers
and are closer attuned to nature than humans might be. Hence Night
Elves, Dwarves, Trolls, and Orcs.

Hunters = D&D Rangers imho.

Warrior is a catch-all class, represents anything including barbarians
for hte most part. Paladins are an exception, being thte holy knights.

Not much is missing in WoW. 2 types of magic users (warlocks and
mages), priest, warriors, rogues, hunters. Maybe necromancers in
future, and bards. Everything else seems to be covered off...
