Combat first aid value depends on your class and play style. It is great
for a soloing Mage, but useless to a grouped Warrior. If you have the
ability to immobilize or chase away (fear) enemies, then you can give

Yes, I can see how that might help. Having played a hunter, a priest and a
druid I was never in that situation. With the latter two being able to heal,
first aid is typically quite unnecessary. With my hunter, need bandages
usually means that my pet lost aggro and I have not been able to loose it
again and bandages will not work with mobs pommeling on me. If I really need
healing in combat, I prefer a health potion. Made affordable being an
alchemist :-)

Actually bandages are pretty handy for a hunter in at least two
situations. First, you can use one on your pet if you are low on mana.
Second, if your pet isn't doing too well or you need to jump in for
whatever reason (like if you are leveling up a new pet) you can jump
in for a bit to get the mob down to what your pet can handle and then
back off and bandage. Believe me, if you don't have health potions you
tend to use lots of bandages (unless you only like to fight in
situations where you know you are easily going to win, but that's no
fun).
