But they DID add challenge. Making sure your buffs are in place is part of
the game. Sometimes you just gotta say learn2play. *
It's nothing to do with the fact that people don't know how to play it;
I don't think anyone is making an argument it based on being
intellectually taxing. (Exactly how long do you think it takes even an
idiot to learn that, if a particular icon disappears, you press a
button?)
No-one's saying it's hard - they're saying it's tedious, pointless and
adds nothing to the game. Again, it makes as much sense as my
hypothetical "Poop" button.
And although there are now add-on workarounds - big signs saying "Buff
yourself" or "Feed your pet" - these in their own way show that the
whole concept of having multiple little fiddly icons in the GUI to
constantly monitor is a bad thing.
Why not do something inventive? For example, if my pet is hungry,
instead of having a tiny icon that barely changes - why not have it
start making sad howls/whines? Use your imagination, Blizzard.
Even a compromise, such as a buff lasting a few hours rather than 10-30
minutes, would be better.
