Based on the behavior yesterday, I don't think this was directly caused by
server patching. Things WERE up some of the time - you could log in if you
were persistent. The problem was that their latency was terrible, and the
login server was swamped. There's a few sites claiming that it might have
been a ddos. I'm more thinking it was pent-up demand - everybody and their
mother wanted to log in yesterday. *
