I'm trying to kill a group that are a level
or two below me and they're kind of close together, is throw down a freeze

Another thing you can do is do a Concussive Jump Shot at one of the
mob.
You'll hopefully aggro only him and draw him slowly away from the mob,
while
you're already running away from them at full tilt, giving you loads of
room.
(For extra safety, you could use a Frost Trap too - I'm assumed there's
3 or more
mobs here, so a Freeze Trap wouldn't be the best use.)

After a few seconds, once you're reassured that only the targetted mob

is running after you, send in your pet. Your pet and the aggroed mob
should
meet half-way between you and the rest of the mob, where hopefully your

pet will use Growl to gain threat.

I don't know how I could live without my Jump Shot macro and the
SmartPet
addon!
