Is there anything constructively I can do, or should I simply let the
pet die?
Three points.
1 - You pet should have a bunch of armor and health and can take quite
a beating. If you get all the mobs to aggro on your pet and then you
start running away like a coward there is a good chance you will get
out of "pet contact range" before your pet dies. In this case your pet
can be whistled for and will appear by your side in a reasonable state
of health. Keep running till the mobs forget about you.
2 - You can dismiss the pet before you feign death... I think. Well, as
long as they are all only hurting your pet. I would use option 1 rather
than this one.. but hey, each to their own.
3 - Sure, let him die. Pets are cheap to rez and reggening your mana
takes much less time than most of the graveyard runs.
