If you're interested in researching this, the technique is called "test
standardization." The multiple-questions, above, trick is one method of
standardization. There are others.
Of course, junk-science practitioners use these techniques exactly in
reverse -- they intentionally bias the questions & answers to produce
the desired results (i.e., "90% of respondents to a university study
reported that they would quit their jobs to play World of Warcraft", or
similar.)
Perhaps you did this inadvertently but -- and I mean no offense -- your
survey suffers from nearly all of the classic survey blunders. In fact,
it is this completeness in its bad-science that fosters the impression
that it may be intentional.
