This has been discussed before, but I want to emphasize that WoW-EU does
not endorse executable addons.

Account Security Alert!
14/10/2005
Recently we have witnessed a large number of World of Warcraft accounts
that have been compromised. In order to protect your account from being
compromised and possibly banned, please take the advice below to heart:
Never give out your account name and password
Only download add-ons from reputable sites
Never download an add-on that requires you to run an executable (.exe) file
Always keep your firewall up-to-date and running
Always keep your anti-virus programs up-to-date and run them frequently.
Never use a power-leveling or gold buying service
Frequently change your password and use both alphabetic and numeric
characters.

If you believe that your account has been compromised, please send all
the details about the incident to WoWAccountReviewEU@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

- If you are using add-ons or plan to use add-ons, ensure that the files
you are downloading do not contain any files that could steal your
information. It should be noted that at no time will add-ons or files
stored in the Interface folder contain a executable file with a .exe
extension.
///////

Cosmos does both (exe installer and exe in addon directory).

You can be stuborn and use Cosmos, but I wouldn't want to have to
explain an executable to the support desk myself in case something goes
wrong with my character (though my guess is that Blizz will be nice to
Cosmos users).

And just that Cosmos can be trusted now, doesn't mean this will remain
so forever (+ thier web server could be hacked or the ip dns spoofed)

Better safe than sorry,
Thomas
